Northland Rugby Union Appoints New CEO

Northland Rugby Union is pleased to confirm the appointment of Paul Lennane as its new Chief Executive Officer, commencing 28th July 2025.

Paul brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience across New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

“He’s someone who knows how to get results, while bringing people with him,” said Chair of the Board, Nikita Tomlinson. “He has a steady hand, a strategic mindset, and understands the importance of relationships in a community like ours.”

Although not originally from Northland, Paul has strong family connections to the region and a deep respect for its proud rugby identity.

“This is a region with real pride and potential,” said Lennane “I’m looking forward to listening, learning, and working alongside the people who are passionate about growing rugby here.”

The Board also acknowledges outgoing CEO Cameron Bell for his continued support and leadership through this transition. His contribution over the past five years has been significant and valued.
