The Small Blacks Roadshow has started! Monday night, the team was in Mangonui where everyone had a great time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Highlights from Monday night's session:

Mangonui RDC Josh Hyde has completed weekend wrap ups of various competition rounds.

First, the Northzone Championship Round Six. The only unbeaten team left is UK Moerewa who ran in 18 Tries on Saturday, Warren Dunn shoots to the top of the table with 15 tries.

Round 3 is complete in the Bayley's U18 Competition. Only one game went down with two defaults over the weekend. Kerikeri are looking strong at the top.

Josh caught up with members of Te Rarawa Rugby after their first win of the season and their close win 19-17 over Eastern.

 

 

Josh then caught up with Dave Jurlina from Eastern.

 

On Friday 5th April, Josh took a Kaitaia College PE class through a quick rip session, with the focus on Coach Development. These students will help Josh deliver Quick rip to other students next term.

 

 

 

BOI RDC Bodean Rogers was at the Bay of Islands Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon and saw Portia Woodman (Black Ferns and Black Ferns Sevens player) there, inspiring the Northland Weet-Bix Kids TRYathetes!

 

Bodean also caught up with Paul Nathan, coach of the Kaeo Seniors after their win over Taiamai Ohaeawai.

 

 

 

Bodean has also been working with the BOI JMB U8's running ‘Tackle Box’ sessions to help those players and coaches transitioning from rippa rugby into tackle. Big thanks to Graeme McKain from Ohaeawai RFC for coordinating these days!

 

 

Bodean was also at Okaihau College where he coached Year 8 students in the skills of Quick Rip.

 

 

 

Primary Schools Rugby Development Officer, Hayley-Jade and Paul Hope from Northland Cricket Association were out at One Tree Point School to run Rippa Rugby and Cricket side by side, in a "CRUGBY" festival day at the school.
