Classic All Blacks to Face Classic Taniwha in Exciting Curtain-Raiser for Semco Northland Taniwha vs. Auckland at Semenoff Stadium


Northland Rugby Union is pleased to announce a highly anticipated rugby match right here in Whangārei, as the Classic All Blacks take on the Classic Taniwha in a curtain-raiser for the Semco Northland Taniwha vs. Auckland match on Sunday, 15th September at Semenoff Stadium.

 

The Classic Taniwha, featuring former Northland rugby greats, will go head-to-head with the Classic All Blacks in what will be a clash of rugby icons. This match is more than just a warm-up; it’s a celebration of Northland’s rich rugby history, showcasing the talents and spirit of past Taniwha players who have proudly represented the region.

 

The inclusion of the Classic Taniwha is something special for Northland, with fans able to witness their local heroes in action once more. The Classic Taniwha squad, filled with familiar faces, including Rene Ranger, Ross Wright, Dean Budd and Matt Wright, will bring the same passion and pride to the field that they exhibited throughout their careers. The game is set to evoke nostalgia and excitement, making it an unmissable event for Northland rugby supporters.

 

The Classic All Blacks squad, comprising former All Blacks legends, will showcase their talents in a match that will celebrate the rich history and tradition of the game. Fans will have the rare opportunity to witness some of the greatest players in New Zealand's rugby history don the black jersey once more.

The main event will see the Semco Northland Taniwha face off against a formidable Auckland side in a critical encounter for the Bunnings NPC season. With both teams vying for top positions on the ladder, the match is expected to be fiercely contested, making it a must-see for Northlanders.
