Northland Rugby Operation's Manager Joshua Hyde believes that this is another growth year for Northland Rugby representative space, "This year we have six teams competing in the Northern Region's competition, we have been competitive over the last few years but with a much more steady club competition coming out of the COVID period, we stand to continue to grow in these spaces."
Two of our Flagship teams will take the field on Semenoff Stadium this year. "To be able to not only have two of our flagship teams playing on the main gorund, but to have them curtain raising for our NPC and FPC sides is really special. U19 v Waikato there are some finer details to work out but the 15th September where our Development Men will curtain raise against Auckland before the Semco Northland Taniwha take on Auckland will be a really special occasion.
Due to numbers, the SEMCO Northland Women's Development Team is taking a hiatus for 2024, with a stronger development focus being given to the Tyrepower Women's club competition in 2025 to grow the numbers to get this team back on the ground.
Keep an eye out every Friday for Team list releases, make sure you follow the Northland Rugby Facebook page and also check out the Northern Regions Rugby facebook page for more detail on all teams within the Northern Region.
