CHRIS FIFE ANNOUNCED CHAIRMAN OF THE NORTHLAND RUGBY COUNCIL OF THE UNION & NRU BOARD MEMBER


Chris Fife was recently elected as Chairman of the Northland Rugby Council of the Union and Director of the Northland Rugby Union Board at the recent AGM.

Chris was born, raised, and schooled in the Hokianga and has been working at PGG Wrightson for the past 44 years as a livestock representative.

Chris is a volunteer who is totally committed to the community. He is a sports advocate for grassroots rugby with a passion for people and making an impact on communities.

“I support all the individuals that represent our six sub unions in Northland; Women’s Rugby; Northland Junior Council; Northland Referees Association, and the Te Tai Tokerau Māori advisory board. I believe in supporting the clubs to financial sustainability through the Rugby for Life, funding, and sponsorship platforms without forgetting that our Kauri and Taniwha teams are our front window of New Zealand Rugby.”

Chris has a long history (over four decades) in the Northland Rugby Community.

Some of which include:

* Southern Rugby - Player, Coach, Manager, Sponsorship and Funding Coordinator, Sponsor, Committee Member and Club Captain.

* Northern Wairoa Sub Union - Delegate, Sponsorship & Funding Coordinator, Chairman and President

* Northland Rugby Council of the Union – Deputy Chairman and Chairman

* Northland Rugby Development Team – Manager for two seasons

* Northland Rugby Centenary Committee – Sub Union Co-ordinator
