Northland Rugby Union today announces that Chief Executive Officer Cameron Bell has made the decision to step down from his role, effective 3rd August 2025.

Chair of the Board Nikita Tomlinson acknowledges the significant impact of Cameron’s leadership contribution over the past 5 years.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the dedication, vision, and energy Cam has brought to the role. Cam has led the Union through some challenging years. While navigating the unknown landscape of the Covid-19 pandemic, being a critical cog in the realisation of our Pohe Island home, Cam has also been an excellent advocate for Northland Rugby on a national level.”

Cameron’s decision reflects a considered and natural transition after several years at the helm of Northland Rugby Union.

“It’s been a privilege to lead the Union and to work alongside so many passionate people who care so deeply about the game,” said Cameron Bell “I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and confident that the Union is in a strong position for what comes next.”

The Board will now begin a formal process of appointing a new CEO. Cameron will remain in the role during this transition and is committed to ensuring continued progress and a seamless handover.

“We thank Cam for his leadership, his belief in people, and his commitment to our Union,” said Tomlinson “He leaves with the full respect of the Board and our rugby whānau.”
