Amohia Te Waiora in Our Corner Once Again

In our corner 2025 Amohia Te Waiora
Northland Rugby is proud to announce the continuation of our long-standing partnership with Amohia Te Waiora, now in its fourth year, and we’re excited to launch our new campaign: GAME ON – WHĀNAU STRONG for 2025.

Building on the success of 2024 with our campaign Free for the Kids, Fun for the Whānau this year’s campaign brings even more impact to Northland communities. Together with Amohia Te Waiora in our corner, we’re going bigger than ever before.

“This campaign, guided by Amohia Te Waiora, puts communities and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.” Commercial Manager, Angus Rush

The 2025 campaign includes:

  • Power up with Wai – Backing hydration with free water stations at home games
  • The Whānau/Family Zone – Alcohol-free and expanded for more fun, play, and connection… Including the biggest slide in the north!
  • Kids Go Free – All season long for kids aged 0–14
  • VIP Invites – Exclusive access for schools to attend captain’s runs and meet the team
  • Kaikohe Alcohol-Free Game Day – Promoting a safer, alcohol-free community-first environment and event

Mark Lyne, Principal Advisor Alcohol at Amohia Te Waiora, praised the strength of the ongoing relationship:

“For the fourth year running, Amohia Te Waiora is proud to stand in Northland Rugby’s corner. ‘Game On – Whānau Strong’ is more than a campaign, it’s an approach centred in shared values that’s creating long-term transformation. By building positive, alcohol-free spaces and putting whānau wellbeing at the centre, Northland Rugby continues to set the standard for how sport can shift behaviours in positive ways and uplift communities to prevent the harm caused by alcohol misuse. Initiatives like this show what’s possible when health and sport come together.”

Northland Rugby’s Commercial Manager, Angus Rush, says the campaign reflects everything the union is working toward:

“This partnership means a lot to us. We’ve laid solid foundations over the last few years with Amohia Te Waiora, and now we get to build on that with a second campaign and take things to the next level with GAME ON – WHĀNAU STRONG. This is one of those times where moving the goalposts is a good thing. Big thanks to Mark and the team at Amohia Te Waiora for their continued support and for being in our corner for 2025.”
